About

Foreknown Birth operates with Romans 8:28-29 as a guiding Scripture, “And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose. For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, in order that he might be the firstborn among many brothers.” Serving all those with the knowledge that God has created and foreknown each mother, father, child, and family in His image. And furthermore, that those He has predestined to be in relationship with Him have been set apart to do good works before they were even born!

Birth and Postpartum Care You Can Trust

Just as Christ has commanded each of His followers, Foreknown Birth Services aims to be a light amidst

all the darkness of the world, particularly in the sphere of "birth work". All services provided are intentionally delivered from a holistic, biblical, Christian perspective.

This means that when you hire Foreknown Birth Services, your birth or postpartum care is seen with all it's spiritual implications and as an opportunity to bring you closer in your relationship with Christ. You can trust that none of your care will include unbiblical practices or philosophies such as antinatalism, hypnobirthing, "pain free birth by faith", "politically correct" language, manifestation, energy work, cleansing rituals, placenta encapsulation, or placenta worship.

Meet Michaela, the face behind Foreknown Birth Services

Hi, I'm Michaela True, owner of Foreknown Birth Services! I'm a certified birth, postpartum doula, and childbirth educator! I'm also in the process of getting my birth photography certification. I'm so glad you're here and excited about the opportunity to meet you and serve you in this exciting season in your life!

I'm proud to be a Colorado native who grew up in the charming city of Littleton. I was raised in a Christian home but experienced lots of hardship and didn't accept Christ as my savior until the age of 16. Ever since then I've lived life knowing that I am not my own; All I am and all I do belongs to Christ! My work now in the "birth world" is meant to bring glory to the One who saved me.

Starting in 2020, I attended college at Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, Illinois where I majored in Ministry to Women. I met my husband Zachary during my first semester and we got married in May of 2022 at the end of my sophomore year. By my junior year, I had recognized and become convinced that the avenue of women's ministry God was leading me to had to do with birthwork.

I have been fascinated by childbirth for as long as I can remember! As a young girl I would watch childbirth programs on reality TV channels with fervent dedication. I would play pretend birth and doctor with my sister and my dolls. All I longed for from a young age was to become a wife and mother. As a bible college student, the Lord brought to my attention this clear calling intermixed with my passion for women's ministry. It's truly a dream come true to hold the title of "doula"!

In 2023 my childhood dream of becoming a mom came true when my husband I welcomed our first son, Ezra into the world through an intense (but very peaceful) unmedicated hospital birth! Like many first time moms, I was induced due to (very) high blood pressure but am thankful to God for answering our prayers for a peaceful and undisturbed birth. I am also thankful for the wonderful Christian doula who supported me during my birth every step of the way and confirmed my passion for one-on-one birth support!

After living in Texas and Illinois for a little bit I was overjoyed to move back to my home state in 2024! Since then we've had our second son, Wesley (through the most beautiful home waterbirth), and I've finally taken the plunge of becoming a certified doula and childbirth educator! Now, I'm finding joy in serving the women in the state I

When I'm not teaching on or attending births or caring for postpartum clients I am a dedicated member of our local church. I also love curling up on the couch or sitting on the porch to read a good book. My favorite genres are theology and realistic or historical fiction. I also enjoy movie nights with my husband, photography, thrifting, antiquing, the occasional hike, and baking!

I'm currently in the process of learning how to quilt, homeschool our children, improve my theological knowledge (it's a lifelong journey), and regularly dream about owning chickens and writing a book or two one day! I enjoy a good (decaf) coffee, a rich hot chocolate, and can only go a few days without eating some sort of homemade baked good. But mostly, I love birth, being a mom, and living everyday trying my best to glorify Christ and point others to the reality of His return!

I try to live my life by this passage of Scripture:

However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace.

Acts 20:24

My Birth Philosophy

God made the female body to accomplish healthy physiological pregnancy and birth.

Birth is natural, instinctive, and the female body is equipped with everything it needs to accomplish a healthy delivery. Very rarely does a women truly need assistance or intervention during the natural physiological process of birth. As long as she feels safe and her and baby are healthy, birth will progress in the way it should go. We would all do right to trust in God's timing and every mother's ability to successfully give birth to her babies. With that being said, every pregnancy and birth is safest and best accomplished when attended to by the care of a well-trained midwife or physician who supports the birthing mother's wishes.

Medical intervention can be a blessing when used in the proper context.

We live in a fallen world, and although the female body normally does as it should during the birth process there are times when extra help is needed. We are so blessed to live in time in history where medical access of all kinds is an option for everyone. It is God's grace in our lives to be able to receive life saving medical care for ourselves and our children when it is needed. There is a time and place for pain management, anesthesia, surgery, and other interventions in pregnancy and birth. A woman and her family should never feel any guilt for accepting help and medical treatment when it is absolutely necessary and beneficial to her birth experience and/or the safety of herself and/or her baby. On the other hand, we live in a time when medical intervention is overused and often becomes harmful to mother and baby. A lot of standard procedures are meant to provide convenience for the provider usually at the expense of the mother's comfort or even successful childbirth. Unnecessary interventions are often pushed and women are made to feel as if they have no say in the matter. That is why it's important for birthing women and their families to be educated on all of their options throughout their pregnancies, labors, and birth experiences.

Every woman has the right to make the right birth decisions for her and her baby.

A successful birth is defined as one in which mother and baby walk away healthy and happy with the process in it's entirety and the ultimate outcome. More often than not, a sense of accomplishment and empowerment is derived from the mother feeling supported and understood in her decisions and desires no matter what kind of birth she ends up having (unmedicated, c-section, homebirth, hospital birth, etc). Consent is key to a positive birth experience and a mother giving birth should always have the option to say "no" and have that decision be respected. Knowing that this is her right, the birthing mother should be diligent in her research and education regarding birth interventions, risks, and potential outcomes. She (or her husband or birth team) should be ready to make thoughtful, prayerful, informed decisions regarding her and her baby's care. Ultimately, the decision is hers and it is up to her husband, birth team, and providers to support her in each choice to the best of their abilities.
